Raymond Doolittle officiating. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe. Mrs. Brown passed away at Ridgecrest Nursing Home on Thursday, July 2, 2009. Mrs. Brown retired from Glenwood Regional Medical Center in 1995 after 28 years of service. She was a member of Fair Park Baptist Church in West Monroe. Vera "Memaw" Brown was a loving mother and grandmother. Her love and her home were the center of our lives and we thank God for giving her to us. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steward Brown; parents, Fred and Viola Doolittle; sister, Marie Doolittle Brister; granddaughter, Misty Powell; and great-granddaughter, Amelia Bostick; and her son in law, Roy Bostick, also passed away on Thursday. Survivors include her daughters, Patsy Brown Bostick, Kathy King and husband Gerald, Vera Ellen Powell and fiancé Dennis Sims; son, Steward Lee Brown; daughter in law, Dottie Decell Brown; grandchildren, Troy Bostick and wife Jennifer, Terry Bostick and wife LeaAnn, Thad Bostick, Jason Brown and wife Eva, Justin Brown, Tiffany Brown Meyers and husband John, Heather Finley and husband Bart, Ann Reeves and husband Dave, Becky Hamilton, Hank Hamilton, Jr., Eric Powell and wife Vasti, and Casey Powell; step grandchildren, Brian King and Amanda Keenen and husband Donald; great-grandchildren, Tara, Josh, Caleb, and Lindsey Bostick, Sara, Amelia, and Logan Brown, Rhett and Piper Finley, Banks McCurdy, Ben and Ethan Powell; step great grandchildren, Riley Claire and Bryar Keenen; brother, O.L. Doolittle and wife Doris, sister, Dorothy Bennett; sister in law, Aleatha Brown; and numerous nephews and nieces. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Brown's grandsons. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
