ELIZABETH O. BRUCE 

Kilpatrick Funeral Home Farmerville, LA 

Elizabeth O. Bruce, 87, of Monroe went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, 
February 24, 2009. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was 
preceded in death by her husband, George Bruce and her daughter, Faye Key. 
Survivors are one son, Dr. Paxton Oliver, Sr. and his wife Nelda of Calhoun, 
LA, one step-daughter, Diane Booth of Monroe, and a host of grandchildren and 
great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bruce was a highly regarded volunteer in the 
community and was most proud of her services to Lea Joyner United Methodist 
Church and to local nursing homes. She was the recipient of the Monroe Mayor's 
Service Award for her volunteerism to Monroe nursing homes. Years later while 
a resident at the West Monroe Guest House she represented the home at the 2008 
Regions Golden Age Pageant. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on 
Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville. Family 
graveside services will be held at Shiloh Community Cemetery on February 27, 
2009 under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in Farmerville, LA.
