DOROTHY DELL BARKSDALE BUFFINGTON


A Memorial Service for Dorothy Dell "Dee Dee" Barksdale Buffington, 74, of 
Monroe will be at 1:30 PM, Saturday, June 29, 2013 at St. Paul's United 
Methodist Church, 1901 Lexington, Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Buffington was born on August 1, 1938 in Ruston, LA and passed away on 
June 25, 2013 in Monroe, LA. She loved her family, friends, her spiritual 
community at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, and the beauty of Nature. She 
was a wonderful, warm person who enjoyed helping people and making people feel 
special. She adored her husband of 54 years, Lamar, who was the center of her 
life and her most devoted caregiver. 

She is survived by her husband, Lamar; daughters, Helen and husband, Joe 
Simpson, Mary Ansley Buffington, and Leigh Barksdale Buffington; grandchildren, 
John William Simpson, Ian Lamar Simpson, Helen Ansley Simpson, Mary Helen 
Kennedy, Sadie Buffington Prince; sisters from Dallas, TX, Toni and her 
husband, Marshall Terry, and Mary Helen and husband, Ron Bradford.

The family would like to give special thanks to all the doctors and other 
caregivers of Mrs. Buffington.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, June 28, 2013 at Kilpatrick 
Funeral Home of Monroe and from 12:30 PM to the time of service at 1:30 PM, 
Saturday, June 29, 2013 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Monroe.
