Jimmy Masters officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 PM in the Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of the Hillcrest Funeral Home of Haughton. Gloria Buie passed from this life on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at The Oaks in Monroe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey W. Buie, and her parents, Arthur T. Morgan and Nell Knight Morgan, one sister, Mary F. Sartin, and two brothers, Joseph W. Morgan and Arthur T. Morgan, Jr. Gloria was born on June 24, 1923 in DeRidder, LA, graduated from Bolton High School in Alexandria, LA, and attended Louisiana College in Pineville, LA. She married Aubrey William Buie in Alexandria, LA where she attended the First Pentecostal Church pastored by her father. She faithfully partnered with her husband during sixty-nine years of pastoral and evangelistic ministry. Gloria was an integral part of her husband's ministry, effectively supporting pastorates in New Orleans, Bossier City, DeRidder and Bastrop, LA, Kilgore and Sherman, TX, and South Bend, IN and others. She was an especially gifted national church speaker who influenced others with her charming wit and insightful wisdom. Many still recall her powerful impact upon their personal lives and ministries. As a pastor's wife, she labored in every facet of ministry, and encouraged and taught saints how to live gracious and overcoming lives for the Lord Jesus. She was a true Christian lady. Gloria was the Executive Housekeeper for Ramada Inn in Bossier City and Alexandria, LA, and served the Morehouse Parish Hospital in several capacities. She is survived by her three sons and their wives, A. W. Jr. "Bill" and Lou Buie, Sandy Lake, LA, Ralph "Buddy" and June Buie, Monroe, LA and James "Jimmy" and Linda Buie, Livingston, TX; three sisters-in-law, Maxie Frake, Bossier City, LA, Norma Teekel, Bossier City, LA, and Clydine Morgan, Orange, TX; one brother-in-law, Archie Buie and wife, Judy, Blanchard, LA; five grandsons, Michael D. Buie, Christopher M. Buie, James A. "Jaime" Buie, Jonathan J. "Jay" Buie and Jeremy W. Buie; nine great grandchildren, and other extended family. Prior to the service, visitation will be from 10:0 AM until 12:00 PM at the Souls Harbor United Pentecostal Church in Calhoun, Louisiana.
