Born in Bunkie, Louisiana, her early years were spent with her doting aunts and grandparents who fostered her lifelong love of handwork and cooking. She attended Neville High School, Louisiana State University and graduated from Northeast Louisiana University. As a devoted young sixth grade teacher at Lexington School, she made lifelong friends and inspired many of Monroe's talented professionals. As a daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, Gail approached tasks with a passionate and selfless commitment. In a similar fashion, Gail enthusiastically embraced and mastered every hobby she picked up, which ultimately led to her second career as an antique dealer. Gail and her husband Leonard built and decorated several homes, including one in Wyoming, which was loved and shared by family and friends. Gail was an active member of Kappa Delta, The Junior League of Monroe, Ouachita Medical Society, St. Christopher's, Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames and 20th Century Book Club. Gail is survived by her husband, Dr. Leonard W. Bunch; daughters Janis Barraza, Sally Mouton and Holly Dencker; her three son-in-laws Dr. Mike Barraza, David Mouton and Joe Dencker; ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents Janis Holloway Strauss and Ernest Strauss. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at First United Methodist Church on Loop Road with Reverend Lynn Malone officiating. The internment will follow the services. Visitation will start at 9:30 A.M. at the church. Services are under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe. Donations in Gail's name may be made to the Ouachita River Valley Animal League at 2411 Pargoud Landing, Monroe, LA 71201 and the First United Methodist Church of Monroe at 3900 Loop Road Monroe, LA 71201.
