DEWITT BURKES JR.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m Tuesday for Dewitt Burkes Jr, 70 of 2104 Flynn 
St. Monroe, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. A.J Mansfield officiating.
 Burial will be in the city cemetery under the direction of Hunt's Golden State 
Funeral Parlor of Monroe.
 Ouachita Parish coroner Ebert Van Buren said Mr. Burkes died of an apparent 
self-inflicted gunshot wound Thursday at his residence.
 Survivors include one son, David Burkes of Monroe; two brothers and one sister.
