Rev. Clyde Kelley will be officiating. Interment will follow at Zeigler Cemetery, Eros, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mr. Burnett was born May 5, 1938 and passed from this life on Monday, April 11, 2011 in West Monroe. Jim was retired from the United States Army and was proud to have served his country. He served in the Vietnam War and received numerous medals and awards for his service. During his military service he was injured and lost most of his hearing. However this injury did not stop him from enjoying life and being involved in the lives of his family. Jim loved his wife "Sweetie" having known her since the age of 15. Jim will be remembered for his love for his family and his faith in God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Beulah Burnett. Survivors include his wife Janet Burnett; son, Steven Burnett; daughter, Margie Burnett; step-sons; Ken Albritton and wife Dejuanna and Kevin Albritton; grandchildren; Jeremiah Nemith and Erica Stenzel; step- grandchildren; Brandi Albritton, Brittney Whitlock and husband Steven, Heather Albritton and Heath Albritton; sisters, JoAnn Skipper and Elaine McMurray, Faye Manning and Peggy Barrett. Pallbearers will be George McClendon, J. R. Dumas, Dwain Jordan, Tim Ross, Steven Whitlock and Heath Albritton. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
