BUSBY Funeral services for Rev. William Otto Busby, Jr., 79, of Chase will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home with Rev. James Miller and Rev. Jimmy Harper officiating. Interment will follow in Chase Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at the funeral home. Rev. William Otto Busby, Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and faithful minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, passed from this life into the courts of Heaven on Sunday, January 11, 2015. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." Psalm 116:15 William was born January 7, 1936 to William Otto, Sr. and Lola Walters Busby in Crowville, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Louisiana College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He faithfully preached the Word of God for over 50 years in many churches across the state, including his longest pastorate of 21 years at Center Point Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Louisiana. He retired from full-time pastoral work in 1996 and moved back to Franklin Parish and quickly became involved at Temple Baptist Church, where he served for nearly two decades, first as Associate Pastor, then as Deacon and finally Deacon Emeritus. William was preceded in death by his parents, William Otto Busby, Sr. and Lola Walters Busby. William is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruby Parnell Busby; four sons, Billy Busby and wife Brenda, of Winnsboro; Charles Busby of Jonesboro; David Busby and wife, Robin, of Weston; Eric Busby and wife Laura, of Clinton, MS. He is also survived by his two sisters, Jan Busby Pyzner and husband John of West Monroe; Doris Busby Marshall and husband, Ron of Sunnyvale, TX; seven grandchildren: Dani, Nikki, Carter, Alana, Sadie, Cassie and Elliott and three great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Men's Executive Sunday School class of Temple Baptist Church, Winnsboro. "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
