BUTLER Funeral services for Bernon W. Butler, 92, of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 27, 2014 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Dr. George Wortham will be officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Visitation will be held Saturday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Mr. Butler was born September 20, 1921 in Calhoun, LA and passed away April 24, 2014 in West Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Maggie Powell Butler; brother, James. H. Butler; sister, Hazel Tidwell; nephew, Jim Butler; son-in-law, Tony Futrell. Mr. Butler was a self-employed real estate developer and owner of Butler Insurance Agency and Butler Real Estate and Construction. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Butler was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church, where he served as both Deacon and Elder. He was also a member of Barak Shrine Temple. Mr. Butler is survived by his wife of 66 years; Helen "Dit" Butler; daughters; Shela Butler Williams and husband Tom, Bonnie Butler Lindsay and husband Doug, Sherree Butler Futrell; grandchildren; Doug Lindsay, Jr., Brock Lindsay, Sr. and wife Jodi, Michael Lindsay and wife Jessica, Walt Williams and wife Katie, Lou-Anne Williams, Kellie Richardson Vincent and husband Tres; great- grandchildren; Maddie Lindsay , Brock Lindsay, Jr., Hunter, Tyler and Keller Vincent and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Doug Lindsay, Sr., Doug Lindsay, Jr., Brock Lindsay, Sr., Walt Williams, Tom Williams and Tres Vincent. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Lindsay, Rusty Lavender, Raymond Richardson, Earl Wayne Jones and Joe Ford. Our family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Samar Roy, Dr. Emile Barrow and Dr. Assad Mouhaffel for the care provided to our loved one. Dad will always be remembered for his love of his family, traveling and spending time in the great outdoors.
