MILDRED S. BUTLER

Funeral services for Mildred S. Butler, age 97, of Bernice, LA will be held at 
11:00 AM Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Bernice, LA. 
Officiating the service will be Rev. Charles Malone. Interment will follow at 
Bernice City Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, 
LA.

Mrs. Butler was born December 15, 1916 and passed away July 6, 2014.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Joe C. Butler; and parents: Lorena and 
T.T. Stewart.

Mrs. Butler was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Bernice, LA. She 
was a graduate of Summerfield High School and graduated from LA Tech University 
in 1937. Mrs. Butler taught school for 37 years, and was a lifelong residence of 
Bernice.

She is survived by her son: Joe C. Butler, Jr and wife Mary of Bernice, LA and 
daughter: Gayle B. Madison and husband George of Monroe, LA; grandchildren: 
Jason Butler, Nicole B. Shepherd, Stewart Madison and wife Shelley, Sarah M. 
Clement and husband Stephen, and Susan Madison; great grandchildren: Marisa and 
Cole Shepherd, Madison Clement, Pierce Madison and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family expresses a special thanks to the Russ House staff for their love and 
care of Mrs. Butler.

Pallbearers will be Cal Colvin, Larry Fitzgerald, W.C. Russell, Harry Cook, 
Bobby Joe Oliver, and Billy O'Bannon.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Bernice, LA or St Judes 
Children's Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday July 9, 2014 at the 
First Baptist Church in Bernice, LA.
