Service for Mr. Joe Grice Cabuk, Jr.,67, of Oak Ridge, LA will be 2 PM Friday, 
April 17, 2009 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Bro Claud Hughes officiating, 
interment to follow in Oak Ridge Baptist Cemetery, under the direction of 
Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home 
from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday April 16.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe Grice Cabuk, Sr. and Jane Williams 
Cabuk, a son Joseph Wilson Cabuk, his father-in-law Harvey Elvin Wilson, Jr. 
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Marsha Wilson Cabuk of Oak Ridge, LA: 
sons, Joe Grice Cabuk III and his wife Michelle Wirth Cabuk of Stow, and 
Samuel Jerome Cabuk of Lake Charles, sister Camilla Grant and her husband 
Herman Grant Jr., granddaughters Marissa and Allison Cabuk, Mother-in-law 
Isabelle L. Wilson from Leeds, Alabama, niece, Amy Green from Bloomington, 
Illinois, great-nephew Austin Schillage from Bloomington, Illinois.

The Pallbearers will be Phillip M. Williams, William K. McConnell, John 
Shamblin, Alan Ford, Will Ed Jones and Jess Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are 
Herman Grant Jr., Gene Allen, John Windsor, Fred Parks, Ed Collins and All 
Past Grand Masters of Louisiana Grand Lodge of Masons.

He was a member at Oak Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, 
Sunday School Superintendant as well as teacher. He was a graduate of Oak 
Ridge High School then attended Northeast Louisiana University until he 
received a congressional Appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy, graduating 
in 1963. He did his pilot training at Craig Air Force Base in Alabama. He 
attended gunnery school at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. He was then 
stationed at RAF Lakenheath Air Base in England. In 1966 he married Marsha 
Wilson Cabuk. In 1969 he served in Vietnam at Bien Hoa Air Base.

He then was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV, for flight 
training in the F-111. Afterwards, he became the Commander of the 390th 
Tactical Fighter Wing at Mountain Home Air Force base in Idaho. In 1976 he 
graduated from the Naval Command and Staff College in Newport, Rhode Island. 
He was promoted to Colonel in 1981 and was on the Tactical Air Command staff 
at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. In 1983 he was a distinguished graduate 
of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in Washington D.C. In 1984 he 
served as Vice Wing Commander of the 20th Tactical Fighter Wing at RAF Upper 
Heyford Air Base in England. From 1985-1987 he was the Wing Commander of the 
513th Tactical Airlift Wing at RAF Mildenhall Air Base, England. In 1987 he 
served as Assistant Director of Operations for NATO in Naples Italy until his 
retirement in 1989.

From 1989-1995 he was a pilot at Fleeman Aviation in Monroe, LA. From 1995-
2000 he was President and General Manager of Legacy Aviation. From 2000 until 
the present he was the Chief Pilot and FAA Company Check Airman at Monroe Air 
Center.

He was a member and Past Master of Brookville Masonic Lodge #161 in Oak Ridge, 
Louisiana. He was a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a past Venerable 
Master of Monroe Lodge of Perfection, a member of the Red Cross of 
Constantine, a York Rite Mason, and past Worthy Patron of the Order of the 
Eastern Star of the state of Louisiana. In 2003 he was the Grand Master of 
Louisiana Grand Lodge of Masons.

He was an active member of the Rose upon the Altar cast in Louisiana. He was a 
Treasurer of the Barak Shrine Temple, Monroe and was Past President of 
Ouachita Chapter 528 of National Sojourners.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lousiana Masonic Dyslexic 
Foundation, Shreveport Shriners Childrens Hospital, or Oak Ridge Baptist 
Church.
