There will be a memorial service at 10:00 A.M. Saturday morning, July 29, at First United Methodist Church, West Monroe, with the Rev. Jon Tellifero presiding and visitation with the family following the service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff W Caldwell, Jr.; grandson, Benjamin L Caldwell; parents, Doyle M and Pearl Reitzell Cody; brother, Melvin O Cody; and sister, Mildred C Parker. She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Doug Caldwell (Emily); Gay C. Gaskins (Gary), William Gaskins (Margaret), Walt Gaskins (Lindsey) and Maggie Gaskins; Scott Caldwell (Judy), Kristy Caldwell (Kelly), David Caldwell, and John Michael Caldwell (Alexis); sister, Bobby Cody Hawthorne; sister-in- law, Dorothy Kontney Cody; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. After graduating as valedictorian from Clarks High School and from Monroe Business School, Margie worked as a secretary at a law firm and for the state probation office. Although she left the business workforce when she began raising her family, she continued to provide bookkeeping and other services for a number ventures involving the family - Caldwell-Wood Insurance Agency, Ridgecrest Nursing Home, White Columns Apartments, and others. When looking back, the children (and others) are still amazed at all the patience she had with them during those early years, and the support she continued to provide even while careful not to intrude into their own lives. She was a very good mom, and already is missed. Pallbearers will be David Caldwell, John Michael Caldwell, William Gaskins, Walt Gaskins, Andrew Hawthorne, Thomas Stephen Parker, and Greg L Wallace.
