He was 37. Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 18, 2013, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street in Shreveport. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, 908 Rutherford Street in Shreveport, The Rev. David Greer officiating. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Resthaven Cemetery, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge, The Rev. Dan Krutz officiating. Zach was born January 23, 1976, in Shreveport, the first of six children of Foster L. Campbell Jr. and Paula Wright Campbell. He attended Parkway High School, where he played varsity baseball. Zach earned his high school diploma in 1994 at Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts in Natchitoches. During his two years at Louisiana School, he was a member of the Natchitoches Central High School baseball team. He studied biochemistry for several years at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. During and after his college years, Zach pursued his love of science and math by working as a researcher at the LSU Neuroscience Center of Excellence in New Orleans. He later worked as a draftsman and as a math tutor in the Shreveport- Bossier City area. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New Orleans Saints. Throughout his life Zach was truly a "great heart" who demonstrated compassion for others and celebrated their successes. Zach is survived by his mother, Paula Wright Campbell of Shreveport, his father, Foster L. Campbell Jr. and wife Gwen of Elm Grove, and by his siblings: Dr. Peter Campbell of Williamsport, Maryland; Kate Campbell of Baton Rouge; Nicholas Campbell of Shreveport; Mary Claire Campbell Figgins and husband Nathan of Sierra Madre, California, and Sarah Elizabeth Campbell of Waco, Texas. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Zach was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marvin Eugene and Yvonne Gravel Wright of Baton Rouge; his paternal grandparents, Foster L. and Rubye Grigsby Campbell of Bossier City; and by his aunt, Martha Claire Wright of Baton Rouge. Honoring Zach as pallbearers in Shreveport will be Marty Bourgeois, Cecil "Chip" Campbell III, Joey French, Evan Hatch, Dr. Jamie Lassiter, Margene McCoy, Greg Morrison, Dan Parrish, Ron Roberts and Bill Robertson. His pallbearers in Baton Rouge will be Marty Bourgeois, David Hingle, John Hingle, Thomas Hingle, Reynolds LeBlanc, Randall Montalbano and Jordan Wright. Honorary pallbearers are Cecil Campbell II, Dr. Ira L. Campbell, John C. Campbell, Terry Edwards, Jimmy Field, Jack Harang, Tom Ibsen, Jordan Jopling, Bob Keaton, Kent Parsons, Warren T. Price, Sam Smith, Willie Thomas Sr., Buddy Truax, Dennis Weber and Father Jonah (Christopher) Wright. The family expresses its appreciation to Dr. Dean Robinson of Shreveport and the staff of Timberlawn Mental Health System of Dallas.
