DAVID L. CAPERTON

A celebration of life for Mr. David L. Caperton, 84, of West Monroe, LA, will 
be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home in West 
Monroe.

Mr. Caperton was born in Shamrock, TX on April 11, 1932 and passed away on May 
28, 2016 at the Savannah Grand in West Monroe. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and 
golf. Mr. Caperton owned and operated former businesses in the Monroe and West 
Monroe including: Domestic Sewing Center, Siesta Nightclub, Wild Wild West, Key 
Largo Seafood restaurant and City Pawn Shop. He is preceded in death by his 
parents; step-son, Greg Thompson; and brother, Edward Caperton.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 34 years, Mary Pennebaker 
Caperton; three step-children, Andy Thompson and wife Phyllis of Holly Ridge, 
LA, Michael Thompson and wife Julie of Calhoun, LA, Trey Thompson of Colorado 
Springs, CO; step daughter-in-law, Christy Thompson of Sachsa, TX; 13 
grandchildren, Alicia Mayeaux and husband Mickey, Kirk and Savanah Thompson, 
Tate and Garet Thomson, Landon, Nicholas, and Ladd Thompson, April Hale, Sarah 
Miller and husband Bryan, Toni Navarro and husband John, Matthew Morgan and 
wife Christa, and Amanda Free and husband Shane; 12 step-grandchildren, 
brother, John Caperton of Monroe, niece, Barbara Gasel; and nephew, John 
Caperton of Dallas, TX.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a 
charity of your choice .

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Savannah 
Grand in West Monroe and First Choice Hospice for their services, and special 
nurse, Leslie Bishop.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Griffin 
Funeral Home in West Monroe.
