WILMA GARNER CARPENTER

Funeral Services for Mrs. Wilma Garner Carpenter, 89, of West Monroe, LA will 
be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 8, 2014 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral 
Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Johnny Smith and Rev. R.C. Smith officiating. 
Interment will follow in the Chatham Cemetery in Chatham, LA.

Mrs. Carpenter was born on March 31, 1924 in Chatham, LA and passed away 
peacefully at home in West Monroe, LA on March 4, 2014.

Preceding her in death were her loving husband, Harry Edward Carpenter; her 
parents, Absolam Denman Garner and Clarice Garner Head; and her very special 
second dad, A. L. (Slim) Head; her brother, John Denman Garner; and sons Randy 
Alan Carpenter and David Abb Carpenter.

Survivors include her children, Diana Thomas, Ronny Carpenter, Sr. and wife, 
Melanie, Denise Grubbs and husband, Burt, Wanda Musselwhite and husband, 
Wayne, and Mark Carpenter and wife, Sandy; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-
one great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jeff Thomas, Ronny Carpenter, Jr., Brian 
Grubbs, Nathan Grubbs, Christopher Carpenter and Daniel Musselwhite.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ellis Auttonberry, Dave Rodgers, Howard Coy, Bill 
Black and Truman Poole.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 7, 2014 
at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to the Ridge Avenue Baptist Church or First Baptist 
Church in Chatham, LA.

The family would especially like to thank Dr. Don Hammett and Dr. Ron Hammett 
for the wonderful care provided to her throughout the years. Thanks also the 
care providers from Hospice Compassus.
