Neal Raborn and Bro. Gary Aucoin officiating. Interment will be at the Holly Grove Cemetery near Wisner under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Mrs. Zora, 96, passed away peacefully at Mary Anna Nursing Home in Wisner. She was a native of Simpson County, Mississippi. She moved to Wisner and graduated as valedictorian from Wisner High School. Zora was the devoted wife of Stanley Carroll for 65 years. They married, bought a small farm near Wisner, raised a family of 5 children, and lived all their lives there. Zoras was an active member of Holly Grove Baptist Church for about 75 years. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and served the church in many capacities. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was very soft spoken, never speaking ill of anyone. She loved her church, quilting, crocheting, and playing scrabble with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband-Stanley Carroll, a son-Donald Carroll, and three sisters. She is survived by sons-Dale Carroll and wife Elaine of Washinton, D.C. and Robert Carroll and wife Bobbi of Watson, LA; daughters- Joan Looney Batey and husband Carl of Wisner, LA and Martha Dampier and husband Philip of Monroe, LA; daughter-in-law-Gloria Carroll of Watson, LA;14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 12 great, great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. Memorial gifts may be made to Holly Grove Baptist Church of Wisner. The family wishes to extend heartfelt appreciation to the caring staff of Mary Anna Nursing Home and TLC Hospice for caring for her the last few months of her life.
