Marion Collier officiating. Interment will follow in New Winnsboro Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 pm until time of service. Mrs. Carter was born October 14, 1928, in Gerard to John and Lois Denson Doughtie and passed from this life on April 19, 2014 in Winnsboro. She was employed for over 30 years for Louisiana State Welfare Department. Preceding Mrs. Carter in death were her parents; three brothers William Henry, Louis, and John Doughtie; and her husband of 62 years Willie Carter. Survivors include her daughter Linda Kaye Cater Gasaway and husband Mike of West Monroe; two grandchildren Adam Carter Gasaway and Abby Darden and husband Jacob all of West Monroe; great-grandson Cason Wayne Darden; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Brad Banks, Artie Carter, Barry Carter, Jacob Darden, George Doughtie and Adam Gasaway.
