CARTER Funeral Services for Mrs. Melba W. Carter, 92, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Erby Burgess officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe. Mrs. Carter was born on March 29, 1923, and died Tuesday, May 5, 2015, in College Station, Texas. She was a charter member of Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe. Over the years, she loved teaching the young children in Sunday School and being active in numerous church activities, with her beloved husband, W. Dean Carter, who preceded her in death. She will be sorely missed by her many friends, including those in her square-dancing group, and family. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Carter Hall, and her husband, Craig of College Station, Texas; by her son, Winn, and his wife, Cheryl of Houston; by her brother, George Walker, and his wife, Jeanette, of Monroe and by five grandchildren; Carter Hall, Merrie Katherine Carter, Elizabeth Carter, Will Carter and Sam Carter and by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe. Memorials may be made to Parkview Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice .
