Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Ruston. Visitation will be from 12:00 until time of service. Services will be officiated by Dr. Chris Craig and Reverend Perry Lassiter. Interment will follow at the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia, Louisiana. Glen was born on February 2, 1947 in Hodge, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Earl Carter, his father Virgil Thomas Carter and his sister, Gail Carter Deese. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Kitty Whitlock Carter, two sons, Eric Carter and wife Janet and Brandon (B J) Carter. Glen had 9 wonderful grandchildren, Cody Carter and wife Lizzie, Nicole Carter, Tyler Carter, Olivia Kate Carter, Lucy Carter, Sadie Carter, Penny Carter, Kaci Wyman and Lauren Wyman and one great grandson, Corey Carter. Brothers-in-law, Jimmy Deese and Louis Whitlock and wife Judy, Sisters-in-law Johnnie Brister and Pat Rice and husband Lavelle. Also numerous loving nieces and nephews. Glen served in the US Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. He loved all sports but especially high school football. He had attended every Super Dome Football State Championship for the past 28 years. Being able to attend these games last year, even though very ill, meant the world to him. He was also an avid Louisiana Tech University Fan. Before his retirement, Glen loved his work as a field inspector for Meyer, Meyer, Lacroix & Hixon and Ron Riley and Associates Engineering. He was a long time member and deacon at First Baptist Church in Ruston. Pallbearers will be Fred Baxter, Mick Baxter, Stanley Bissic, Ronald Crawford, Mike Hilton, and Mike Shipp. Honorary pallbearers will be men of the Adult 7 FBC Ruston. The family would like to thank Dr. Donna Walker and the nurses and staff of Christus Highland Hospital in Shreveport, LA for their loving and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the FBC Ruston Children's Building Fund, Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Columbia, LA or they charity of your choice .
