DELMA RAY CARTER

Funeral services for Delma Ray Carter, 83 , of Downsville, LA will be held at 
2:00 PM, Friday, October 1, 2010 at Providence Baptist Church, Point, LA. 
Michael Gates will be officiating. Interment will follow at Acree Cemetery 
under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mr. Carter was born 
January 25, 1927 in Point, LA and passed away September 28, 2010 at home. He 
was a retired Painter and Commercial Fisherman. Mr. Carter was preceded in 
death by his mother and father, George Carter and Susie Smith Carter, and four 
siblings, Mitchell Day, Doyle Carter, Thelma Brown, and Verna Littleton. He is 
survived by his wife of 56 years Doris Dean Carter, daughter Marjorie Alma 
Lester and husband Curtis; grandchildren Michael Lewis, Melissa Lester and 
husband Ricky, Nathan Lewis; great grandchildren Melony Allen, Hailey Lewis, 
and Trenton Sparks; siblings Elmarie Guice, Ollie Guice, Maxine Littleton, and 
sister-in-law Betty Carter. Pallbearers will be George Brown, Sonny Day, Travis 
Guice, Terry Adkins, Michael Wallace, and Charles Simpson. Visitation will be 
held Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 from 5:00 PM til 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral 
Home, West Monroe, LA.
