John Wilkins and Rev. Becky Poor officiating. Interment will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Anne Castle was born on Wednesday, October 14, 1931 in Philadelphia, MS. and passed away Friday, July 1, 2016 in New Roads, LA. Mrs. Anne graduated from Belhaven College and University of Southern Mississippi where she was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She was a music teacher, a member of Bruin- Vidal DAR, Tensas Garden Club, The Cosmopolitan Club, an avid bridge player and an avid LSU fan along side her husband. Mrs. Anne was a long time writer of the "People, Places and Events" column in the Tensas Gazette. Her biggest pride and joy was watching her children and grandchildren playing and coaching sports. She was preceded in death by her husband Prentiss Atkins Castle, Sr., her parents Ralph Lofton Ray and Nancy Brown Ray. She is survived by: sister, Bettye Sue Logan and husband Crawford of Tchula, MS; and nephew, Crawford Logan and wife Tami and their children, Christopher Logan and Roane Logan. Two sons, Prentiss A Castle Jr., and wife Beth of Houston, TX and Ralph Ray Castle and wife Katherine of Baton Rouge, LA; daughter Susan Castle Gremillion and husband Darren of Baton Rouge, LA. Grandchildren: Prentiss Atkins Castle, III and wife Beth of Amarillo, TX, Lauren Castle Doucet and husband Jacob of New Roads, LA, William Walker Castle of Houston, TX, and Mathew William Bailey of Baton Rouge, LA; Great- grandchildren: Prentiss Atkins Castle, IV, Lucy Elizabeth Doucet and Annie Gayle Doucet. Pallbearers will be Rusty Ratcliff, Russ Ratcliff, Charlie Westmoreland, Dale Hoover, Al Coco, and Jeff McMurray. The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday, LA on Monday, July 4, from 6-8 p.m. and prior to the service at Newellton Union Church at 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Please join the family in this Celebration of Life by wearing purple and gold.
