Rev. Mark Foster, Rev. Fred Foster and Rev. Jim DeRamus will officiate. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery, Clarks, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Mrs. Castle was born May 8, 1931 in Clarks, Louisiana and passed away October 9, 2016 in Monroe, Louisiana. She was a member of Pentecostals of the Twin Cities. Mrs. Castle was preceded in death by husband; Charles Castle; son, James Edward Castle; parents, Elmer and Annie Douglas; step- mother, Peggy Douglas; brother, Eual Douglas and son-in-law, Joe Long. When gathering in her room at the hospital, two words were often repeated: legend and legacy. In her last hours, a very large group of her family gathered around her bed to sing hymns of praise and worship to the King of Kings. She was the daughter of parents who pastored and founded churches across Louisiana. She was a Sunday School teacher and also worked for several child care centers. She retired at age eighty one from Jelly Bean Junction where she served as a teacher for twenty-one years. Her legacy is three daughters and several grandchildren, all committed to Christ and serving in various capacities of ministry. The legend is her outstanding ability to create delicious dishes for the table on Sundays. The Castle home after church on Sundays was only rivaled by the best restaurants in the city. Mrs. Castle is survived by daughters; Cynthia DeRamus and husband Jim, Deborah Long, Judy Tate and husband James; sisters, Marjorie Cox and husband Doyle and Virginia Boothe and husband Daryl; brother, Boyd Douglas and wife Dee Dee; grandsons; Anthony Long and wife April and Heath Long and wife Lauren; granddaughters, Amanda Hearst and husband Vernon, Amber Handkins and husband Knox; great-grandchildren Japheth, Ashlyn, Austin, Schuyler, Malachi, Blake, Paris, Justin, Savannah, Wyatt, Ada and Sophie.
