Mrs. Cavet, a retired Ice Cream and Food Concessionaire, was a resident of the Dunn/Delhi area for thirty eight years. She was enjoying her retirement at the Lake Passman Retirement Community in Monroe, LA where she met many wonderful friends there. She went to her rest on December 13th at St. Francis Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cavet; her parents, Leo Long Robertson and Vera Ellen Cockerham Robertson; and a brother, John "Bud" Robertson. She is survived by five children and their families, James Cavet and wife Terry of Richmond, VA, Debra Bennett and husband Gary of Swartz, LA, Carolyn Nolen and husband Jay of Monroe, LA, Vera Cavet Vanderpool and husband Fate of Nashville, TN and Sandra Waldo of Monroe, LA; one sister, Wanda Drane of Ferriday, LA; eight grandchildren, Jackie, Billy, Carlos, Christie, Shawn, Brittany, Stacy and Chad; four great grandchildren, Austin, Cody, Tayler and Kaitlin and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be Jackie Cavet, Billy Cavet, Chad Waldo, Shawn Callaway, Fate Vanderpool, Jay Nolen, Josh Hernandez and Chris Bryant. She was devoted to her family and will be remembered and loved forever! A lot of people, especially children knew her as only the "ICE CREAM LADY". She had an ice cream truck that she worked in Richland and Ouachita Parishes for several years before retiring. She brought smiles to many awaiting the jingle of the Bell on a hot summer day. Years from now adults remembering their childhood will speak with a smile of the "ICE CREAM LADY". In lieu of flowers families request memorials be made to the Salvation Army. Thanks from the Cavet family. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/ouachita/obits/c/cavet2419gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/lafiles/ File size: 2.7 Kb
