Mrs. Chandler was born July 9, 1921 in Choudrant LA and died on Friday, March 6, 2015 at her residence following a brief illness. She was a lifelong member of Douglas United Methodist Church. Dorothy was known for her love of her family, church, and community. She was always there to lend a helping hand or cook a meal. Being one of the best cooks in the community, everyone always wanted to try what "Miss" Dorothy brought to church meals. In her spare time, she was in her beautiful yard. She loved to "tickle the soil" so it would "sing flowers". For many years, she arranged the flowers she grew for the Sunday morning service at Douglas United Methodist Church. She was recently referred to as "One of God's Masterpieces". She will be missed by many. Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by the love of her life, James W.
