Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Joy Patten Chapman, 79, of West Monroe, LA will be 
11:00 AM Monday January 11, 2010 at Bethel Baptist Church in West Monroe with 
Rev. Braxton Humphries and Rev. Gene Norman officiating. Interment will follow 
at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun. Mrs. Chapman was born July 
26, 1930 in Sicily Island, LA and passed away on January 8, 2010 in West 
Monroe, LA. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was retired from the 
Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, LA. She is preceded in death by 
her husband, J.C. Chapman, Jr.; one grandson; two granddaughters, three 
brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her children, Dennis Chapman and 
wife, Susan, Joyce Smalling and husband, Allen, Grace King and husband, 
Cordell, Kim Smith and husband, Ray, Paul Chapman and wife, Wendy, Bruce 
Chapman and wife Patti and special child, Jodi Landry; twenty grandchildren, 
thirty-two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sisters, JoAnn 
Cowart and Geneva Bass; brothers, Leon, Roy, and Dale Patten; and numerous 
nieces and nephews. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and 
great grandsons. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, January 
10, 2010 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe. Memorials may be made to the 
Bethel Baptist Church in West Monroe or the Riverside Baptist Church at Box 
734 Red Deer, AB, Canada T4N5H2 or the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in 
Monroe, LA.
