NELLIE SUE CLAY, Riser Funeral Home Columbia, La. Funeral services for Robert Henry Clay,Sr. and his mother Nellie Sue Clay both of Bosco, LA Will be held 1:00 PM Sunday from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in the Bosco Cemetery. The Clay Family will receive visitors on Sunday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Robert Henry Clay, Sr. was born on July 1, 1965 at Monroe, LA. To the union of his parents the late Forrest Vernon Clay, Jr. and Nellie Sue (Griffin) Clay and he passed from this life suddenly on December 25, 2008 at the Beatrice Community Hospital in Beatrice, Nebraska. He was also preceded in death by a brother Ernest Franklin Clay and was a member of Bosco Baptist Church. Nellie Sue (Griffin) Clay was born on September 6, 1941 at West Monroe , LA. To the union of her parents the late Spencer McHenry Griffin and Ida Edna (Waggoner) Griffin. She passed from this life on December 25, 2008 at LSU E A Conway Memorial Hospital in Monroe shortly after receiving word her son Henry had died. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Forrest Clay, Jr. and a son Ernest Franklin Clay. She was a member of the Bosco Baptist Church. Henry Clay is survived by: His wife-Karen Clark Clay of Bosco; two sons Robert Henry Clay, Jr. and Ashley of Bosco; and Israel Lee Boyett and wife Amanda of West Monroe; one daughter Randa Marie Romero and husband Alex of Ruston; two brothers Vernon Forrest Clay III and wife Teresa of Columbia and Marvin Ray Clay and wife Michelle of Bosco; his nephews Vernon Forrest Clay IV, Daniel Wedgeworth, and D. J. Evans; his nieces Victoria Clay, Melissa Jones, Vashti Kimberly Grant, Heather Michelle Word, Elizabeth Graham, Becky Clay, and Britney Leeann Grant. Henry also leaves a host of other great nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, other family and friends. Henry Clay's pallbearers include Daniel Wedgeworth, Adam Clark, Matt Russell, John Lee, Dale Hendrix, and Lee Boyett. Nellie Sue Clay's survivors include two sons Vernon Forrest Clay III & wife Teresa of Columbia, and Marvin Ray Clay and wife Michelle of Bosco; a daughter in law Karen Clark Clay of Bosco; a sister Mrs. Betty French of West Monroe; her Grandchildren Vernon Forrest Clay IV, Daniel Wedgeworth, D. J. Evans, Victoria Clay, Melissa Jones, Vashti Kimberly Grant, Heather Michelle Word, Elizabeth Graham, Becky Clay, Britney Leeann Grant and Lee Boyett.
