JOYCE MCLAUGHLIN CLOWER 

Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe. LA 

Funeral services for Joyce McLaughlin Clower, 70, of Monroe, LA will be held 
at 10:00 AM Monday, January 11, 2010 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, 
Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating. Interment will 
follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Clower passed away Friday, 
January 8, 2010. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She retired from 
Equitable Life Insurance Company after twenty-eight years of service. She was 
a member of Women of the Moose since 1977, member of American Business Women's 
Association and worked with Auxiliary for the Amvets. She was a receptionist 
for the Veteran Home when it first opened, was a substitute teacher for the 
Ouachita Parish School System, a Commissioner of Election in Ouachita Parish, 
and was the wife of a firefighter. She was preceded in death by her son, James 
K. Clower II. Survivors include her husband of twenty-nine years, James K. 
Clower; daughters, Cynde McClain Dubois and husband Steve and Barbara Ford and 
husband, Vernon; sons, Lloyd Ray McClain, Tommy Clower and wife Judy, and 
Wayne Clower and wife Sandra; sister, Betty Peveto; nine grandchildren; eight 
great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and 
nephews; and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be V.J. Ford, 
Dennis Ford, David McClain, Alan Clower, James McClain, and Charles Cicero. 
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 
Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Memorials may be made to 
Susan G. KOMEN for the CURE at P.O. Box 4333, Monroe, LA 71211.
