K. "Smokey" Clower, 84, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 4, 2010, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Clower passed away Saturday, October 02, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was a U. S. Navy veteran serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Clower was a member of the Moose Lodge #8818, the Bowling Association, and a retired Deputy Chief for the Monroe City Fire Department. Mr. Clower was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Clower; son, James Clower II; sister, Marguerite Johnston; and granddaughter, Joyce Ann Powell. Survivors include his children, Barbara Ford and husband Vernon of West Monroe, Tommy Clower and wife Judy of West Monroe, Wayne Clower and wife Sandra of Monroe, Cynthia Dubois and husband Steve of Monroe; and Lloyd Ray McClain; brothers, E. B. Clower and Ernest Clower; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Dennis T. Ford, V. J. Ford, Alan Clower, James McClain, David McClain, and Charles Correro. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
