Tony Smith and Rev. Harrison Tribble officiating. Kathy Broadnax will sing. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Troy was born in Wichita, KS on July 15, 1969 and passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at his residence. Troy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on anything. If he couldn't fix it, he would find someone who would. He had his bedroom arranged for his TV and netbook while he was bedbound. Troy had a swimming accident on June 2, 1985 at Riverton and broke his neck. He spent 3 months at St. Francis Hospital and 3 more months at Children's Hospital in New Orleans. While he was there, he got his GED. After he came home, he went to Delta Ouachita and got his diploma in accounting. He started at New Horizons Independent Living Center. Later when his van was ready he went to work for Fastserv Medical. He was ATS and CRTS certified. He sold wheelchairs, vans, and anything else a disabled person might need. While he was working he helped get the Monroe Transit for the disabled in our area. He also helped with the Disabled SKI Clinic. Troy is survived by his mother, Mary E. Cole of Monroe; half-sister, Deb Mills of Goddard, KS, aunts, Rita Conner and husband Ken of Columbia, Patricia Cady of West Monroe; uncle, Dale Cady of Monroe; first cousins, Teresa Williams and husband Patrick of West Monroe, Stacy Cerecero of San Antonio, TX; MSgt Christina Conner of Ft Beale, CA, Sherri Evans of Monroe, Kevin Conner and wife Missy of Columbia, Shawn Cagle of West Monroe, Robert Barnett of Illinois, Jessie Barnett of Illinois; and many more second cousins, friends and adopted family members. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Many thanks to all of the family at Hospice Compassus, International Medicine of the Twin Cities, the family at Cornerstone Hospital, and the Wound Center.
