He was a 1992 graduate of Chicago Vocational Career Academy, in Chicago, Illinois. Upon graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marines and served from 1992 through 1996. He continued to serve his country by reenlisting in the Unitized States Army in June of 1997. His twenty-one year career with the United States Armed Forces exhibited his dedication to God, family and country.He departed this life on Sunday July 28, 2013 at Upstate Medical University Hospital, in Syracuse New York. He was preceded in death by his father Edward Lane and paternal grandparents, and his maternal grandmother Ella Mae Coleman.He leaves to cherish his memory a loving mother Ms. Linda Coleman of Monroe, Louisiana, one brother Derrick Coleman of Lansing, Illinois, two sisters Jannette Kodzo of Coon Rapids, Minnesota and Latonya Louis of Monroe, Louisiana, grandfather Wilford Baker of Bastrop, Louisiana and a hosts of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. A private memorial ceremony will be held in Monroe, LA on August 10, 2013.
