Charles graduated from Jena High School and attended North East Junior College (now ULM-Monroe.) He honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II as a counter intelligence agent. He later served in the United States Civil Service Commission as an investigator and later retired from Adressograph-Multigraph Corp, after 22 years as the local sales representative. He is also retired from M&A Restaurant sales and service. Mr. Colter leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Baur Colter, son Casey Colter of Lake Charles, daughter, Colleen Dykes and husband Hugh, grandchildren, Amanda Jo Locklear and Adam Touchet, great grandchildren, Jacob Touchet and Reagan Locklear. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 2 PM in the Sanctuary of Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church of which he is a Charter Member. Rev. Nannette Cagney is to officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home.
