Lindle Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Colvin passed away Friday, February 27, 2009, at St. Francis North Hospital. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII, and a member of New Light Baptist Church. Mr. Colvin retired after 21 years of service as a machinist with Borg Warner in California, then moved to Monroe and became a farmer. His love and passion in life was mechanicing and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Mona Colvin; daughters, NeAlta Smith and husband Don of Riverside, CA, and Sharon Johnston of Monroe, LA; sons, William (Butch) Colvin of Monroe, LA, and Mike Colvin and wife Debby of West Monroe, LA; eight grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Josh Helm, Jeremy Helm, Steve Williams, Mike Bryant, George Stadter, and Richie May. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Memorials may be made to New Light Baptist Church.
