BOYD DEAN COLVIN

Celebration of Life for Boyd Dean Colvin, 60, of West Monroe, LA, will be 10:00 
AM Friday, October 2, 2015, First Baptist Church 's Feazel Chapel in West 
Monroe with Dr. Dwight Munn officiating.

Boyd was born November 26, 1954 and went to his heavenly home on September 30, 
2015. Boyd was a deacon at First West and fully enjoyed his church family. He 
served his country in the Navy. His professional life was spent as an expert in 
the heavy equipment industry. Even though retired for the last 20 years, Boyd's 
service to his family, friends, and community has been ongoing.

When Jesus called Peter to follow him, he saw an imperfect man who had the 
potential to be the rock on which the church would be built. Though human, 
Peter became that rock. He understood faith to be those things hoped for but 
not yet seen. Such was the faith of Boyd Colvin. Boyd was clearly committed to 
his belief in God. He was not only dedicated to his walk with the Lord, he also 
was a defender of the faith; always willing to share how Jesus Christ had 
touched his life. He demonstrated it in his daily interactions with family and 
friends and witnessed to those he met. Boyd knew God, he knew Him as his 
heavenly Father, he knew Christ as his Lord and Savior, and he knew heaven was 
his real home.

Boyd was preceded in death by father, Bobby Dean Colvin, and father-in-law, 
Iley Gaar, and mother-in-law, Jeanette Gaar. Survivors include: Wife, Linda 
Gaar Colvin, Mother, Winnie Carter Colvin, and two Sisters, Libby Colvin and 
Becky Colvin.

In Lieu of Flowers the family requests donations be given to your church or 
your charity of choice in Boyd's name.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 
2015 at First Baptist Church's Feazel Chapel in West Monroe.
