HENSON S. COON Jr

Funeral services for Mr. Henson S. Coon, Jr., age 75, of Monroe, will be held 
at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 31, 2010, in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral 
Homes of West Monroe. Officiating will be Rev. Oda W. "Tuck" Roberts and Dr. 
Michael Barnett of Ocean Springs, MS. Interment will follow at Henson Cemetery 
in Jackson Parish under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of West 
Monroe.
Mr. Coon was born in Monroe, LA on August 12, 1934 and passed away surrounded 
by his family at his residence on July 28, 2010.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Joan Terry Coon of Monroe; 
son, Henson S. Coon, III and his wife, Tamie Mosley Coon; grandson, Andrew 
Lewis Coon and granddaughter, Kelsey LeAnne Coon all of West Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Henson and Marguerite Coon; and 2 
sisters, Martha Coon Culpepper and Florence Marie Coon.
Mr. Coon was the owner and operator of Henson Coon Insurance for 33 years. He 
was a past president of the Ouachita Independent Insurance Agents Association. 
He was also a past president of the Downtown Lions Club. He was a member of 
the Cattlemen's Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. He was 
a graduate of Neville High School, Class of 1952 and a graduate of Tulane 
University, Class of 1956.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Greer, Todd Hendrix, Bobby Fowler, Chris Herr, Dan 
Culpepper Fred Coon, III, Jay Coon and Lee Carbrey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Wood, Bob Baker, Ronnie Stevenson, Terry 
Fuller, Cordell King and Joe Allen of Fort Worth, TX.
Visitation will be Friday, July 30, 2010, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., at 
Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of West Monroe.
