COOPER Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA Funeral services for Mr. James M. Cooper, 82, of Dubach, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Dubach United Methodist Church in Dubach, LA with Rev. Doug Stewart, Rev. Don Lanier, and Rev. Connie Smith officiating. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mr. Cooper passed away Thursday, January 01, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center. He retired from Mississippi River Transmission Corp. after 42 years of service. Mr. Cooper was a Navy veteran of WWII, a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, and little league baseball coach for numerous years. Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his parents, William M. and Vera Wadley Cooper; first wife, Ruth Foster Cooper; and sister, Dot Turner. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Cooper; daughter, Linda Ruth Cooper and husband Charles G. of Duncanville, TX; son, Kenneth James Cooper and wife Debbie of Lewisville, TX; stepson, Deany Herring and wife Donna of Dubach; sister, Louise Bain of Rome, GA; grandchildren, Crystal Cooper of Midlothian, TX, Carrie Cooper and husband Mike Terrell of Austin, TX, and Kelley Cooper and Natasha Cooper of Lewisville, TX ; step grandson, Dallas Herring and wife Bridget of Ruston, LA; great granddaughter, Annabelle Terrell; and step great grandson, Dawson Herring. Pallbearers will be Warren Washam, Tom Baker, Jimmy Turner, Jason Baker, Robert Colvin, and Jerry Rogers. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
