COOPER Services for Freddie C. "Pete" Cooper will be at 2PM, Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Pine Hill Baptist Church, Sicily Island, LA with Bro. Benny Alford and Bro. Harrell Tucker officiating. Visitation will be from 5PM until 9PM, Tuesday, December 1st and from 12PM until time of service Wednesday, December 2nd at the church. Interment will be at Cypress Grove Cemetery, Ferriday under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria. Pete Cooper, 58, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015 at his residence. Pete Cooper grew up riding dirt bikes and running in the hills of Sicily Island with his family and friends. He graduated from Sicily Island High School and later from LA Tech University earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. In his career with Chevron, Pete traveled and lived all over the world. Through his travels, he made many life-long friends. He loved and delighted in his friends and family. He was full of life, always smiling and laughing. He was caring and enjoyed helping others. He could always be found working on the land, building something, or fixing absolutely any kind of equipment, from electronics to machinery. He was an avid golfer who loved the game and the competition. Pete was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church. He was also a Master Mason with the Keystone 213 Masonic Lodge of Sicily Island. Though Pete lived on 5 different continents during his lifetime, his heart remained always with his family and friends in the hills of Sicily Island. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dewey Coughran and Lucille Roy; paternal grandparents, Roy Lee Cooper and Mae Bass Conn. Those left to cherish his memory include wife, Susan Cooper; parents, Edna and Freddie Cooper of Sicily Island, LA; sisters, Cheryl Mouliere and husband Marshall of Bunkie; Joan Hampton and husband Gary of West Monroe, LA; brother, Dennis Cooper and wife Kris of Huntington Woods, MI; nieces, Chelsea Cooper, Abby Cooper and Emma Cooper; nephew, Hunter Tyler; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins. Pallbearers will be Gerald McMurray, Kenneth Hedrick, Lynn Vines, Roger Vines, James Cowan, Kelly Thompson, Dennis Durant and Stewart Turpie.
