DR. DONALD RAY CORNELL

Sterlington Road, Monroe

Funeral services for Dr. Donald Ray Cornell, 75, of Monroe, LA will be at 2:00 
PM Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, 
Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Bill Echols officiating. Interment will 
follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Dr. Cornell passed away Monday, September 28, 2009. He was born in Owensboro, 
KY and graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, with a 
Doctorate in Music. He was retired from ULM as a Professor of Music in 
Keyboards for twenty-seven years. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. 
He was the organist and choir director for St. Thomas Episcopal Church for a 
number of years and substitute organist for Grace Episcopal Church for a few 
years.

Survivors include his daughter, Ruth Anne Lowry and husband Max of Calhoun, 
LA; two grandsons, Donald Ray Buckles III and wife Rhonda of Seattle, WA and 
Nathan Andrew Buckles of Calhoun, LA; brother, Arthur Burl Cornell of 
Highpoint, NC.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 
Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Disaster Relief Fund or the charity of 
your choice.
