JOE JOSEPH COSTANZA, JR. Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA Funeral services for Mr. Joe Joseph Costanza, Jr., 88, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Msgr. Edmund Moore, and Rev. Job Sciara officiating. Interment will follow in St. Matthew Mausoleum under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mr. Costanza was born June 23, 1920 in Monroe, LA and passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center. A longtime member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, a graduate of Neville High School, he served proudly with the U. S. Army during World War II, and he was a retired business owner. Mr. Costanza was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Costanza, and Margarita Cascio Costanza; brothers, Louis J. Costanza, and Nicholas Costanza; and sister, Annie Costanza Lewis. Survivors include his nephews, Joseph Costanza and wife Pat, Louis Costanza, Jr., and Stanley Lewis; nieces, Margaret Horne and husband Raymond, Vita Southern and husband Lee, and Margaret Tarver and husband Tommy; Godchild, JoAnn Crone; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Darryl Gregory, Greg Horne, John Southern, Tim Southern, Tommy Tarver, and Russell Tarver. Special thanks to the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home, St. Francis Medical Center, Dr. Charles Morgan, and the many doctors and nurses who gave their professional care during Mr. Costanza's illness.
