COSTON Robert D. (Bob) Coston, Ph.D., passed away on Thursday, July 7 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility in Statesboro, Georgia. He was born on April 26, 1942 in Monroe, Louisiana. Bob graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and received his doctorate in economics from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He began his professional career at Georgia Southern University where he held the positions of Professor of Economics; Associate Dean of the School of Business; Director, Center for Management Development; Professor and Head, Department of Economics. He also developed numerous real estate properties. His expertise in economics led him to become one of the leading Consulting Economists in the United States. He also served in many civic and professional organizations and authored numerous publications. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Statesboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Frances Coston and his brother and sister Buddy and Martha Ann. Bob is survived by Jackie Schmidt Coston, his wife of 48 years; three daughters, Lise Coston-Fogg and her husband Chris and their daughter Adeline, of Atlanta, Georgia; Mary Coston, of Brooklyn, New York; and Lillie Coston of Atlanta, Georgia. Rosary services will Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Joiner Anderson Funeral Home. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthews Catholic Church with Father Mike Smith officiating. The body will lie in state from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held in Louisiana. Pall bearers will be Chris Fogg, Walter Moore, Gary Cox, Kenneth Slomosky, Jimmy Franklin and Marcus Seligman. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Matthews Catholic Church, 221 John Paul Ave., Statesboro 30458; Open Hearts Community Mission (Homeless Shelter), P. O.
