Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Myrick and Rev. Doug Edwards officiating. I nterment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Courson, formerly of Bastrop, passed away on September 13, 2008, following a lengthy illness. He was 79 years old. Mr. Courson was a retired employee of International Paper Company. He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Kathleen Woodall Courson; his sister, Mary Annie Streeter; his brother, Ralph Courson; his granddaughter, Jennifer Courson; and his great grandson, Gabriel Snell. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Peggy Fowler Courson of West Monroe; his daughter, Sandra Courson of Orange Beach, AL; sons, Danny Courson and wife Ruby of Bastrop, Jackie Courson and wife Cynthia of Bastrop, Larry Courson and wife Carla of Sterlington, Bruce Courson of El Dorado, AR, Arvil Fowler and wife Becky of Keller, TX, Wayne Fowler and wife Dana of Keller, TX, and Bruce Fowler of Nacogdoches, TX; sisters, Charlene Duke of Monroe, and Sylvia Shannon of Collinston; grandchildren, Charisma Cummings and husband Vernon, Laura Eppinette, Daniel Courson, Brandon Courson, Terri Cons, John Paul Cowan, Shawn Michael Cowan, Amanda Snell, Holli Courson, Alex Courson, Michelle Fowler Stadel and husband Rick, Christopher Fowler, Stormy Fowler Perkins and husband Chance, and Danielle Fowler; and 17 great grandchildren. Grandsons and Jerry Boyte will serve as pallbearer. Honorary pallbearers will be David Hofford and his great grandsons. The family of Mr. Courson would like to thank the staff of Premier Hospice for the wonderful care they provided during his final weeks.
