ERIC BRYAN COVINGTON

Surrounded by his wife, family and faithful dogs, Eric Bryan Covington died 
peacefully at home in Jackson on October 31, 2015 at the age of 32. Eric 
gracefully fought cancer for 19 months maintaining his unshakeable sweetness 
and faith until the very end of this trial.

Eric is survived by his wife, Abby Munton Covington, of Jackson, Miss., his 
parents, Dennis and Vicki Covington, his siblings, Kyle and Riley, all of West 
Monroe, La., his maternal grandmother, Yolanda Collings, of Krebs, Okla. and 
aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. His paternal grandparents, W.A. and Cleo 
Covington, his maternal grandfather, Clifford Collings, and his uncle Michael 
Collings preceded Eric in death.

Though far too short, Eric's life was characterized by his genuine love for 
people, his enthusiasm for experiencing life to the fullest and his generosity 
of spirit. He was an accomplished runner, scotch and whiskey enthusiast, and a 
gifted musician, playing in several marginally successful garage bands and 
frequently wooing his wife with serenades. Eric's charming smile, sharp wit, 
and infectious laugh brought life and love to everyone he met. His legacy is 
the selfless, sacrificial love he showed to his friends and family, which 
points to the love of Christ in whom Eric placed his hope and has now found his 
eternal rest and peace.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 
Fondren Church located at 3327 Old Canton Road, Jackson, Mississippi, 39216. A 
memorial service will follow at Noon. In lieu of flowers, please make a 
donation to the Hub Urban Ministries, 605 Cotton Street, Shreveport, La., 
71101.
