Charles passed away at his residence in Monroe, Thursday, November 3, 2016, at the age of ninety-four. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 623 Hwy 80 East, Monroe, with Rev. Terry Mims officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service. Charles, born February 16, 1922, grew up in Monroe, riding the street car down Jackson Street and swimming in the old salt water pool near the river. He graduated from Northeast Jr. College where he met his wife, Willie Lois Thompson Crockett. They were married after he returned from service in the US Army Air Corp during WWII. He, along with Willie Lois and their daughters, moved to Shreveport in 1958 and spent forty-six happy years there enjoying his church, singing in the choir, playing the saw at events, and growing a big garden. At the age of 82 they moved back to Monroe to be close to their daughters and joined Emmanuel Baptist Church. Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years; his parents, Harry Hale Crockett and Maggie May Crockett. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Sara and Skip Caissie and Jane and John Cook; grandchildren, Carolyn Guerriero and husband Paul, Jason Caissie and wife Michelle, Kevin Cook and wife Amy, Clay Caissie, Allison Wilkerson and husband Kevin; great-grandchildren, Chandler and Cullen Guerriero; Payton, Parker, and Presley Wilkerson; Annaliese and Briella Caissie; and Ellis Cook. Charles's long time care giver, Candace Long, is also left to cherish his memory. Pallbearers will be Jason Cullen Caissie, Kevin Cook, Clay Caissie, Paul Guerriero, Cullen Guerriero, Kevin Wilkerson, Dwight Crockett, and Derick Crockett.
