DOROTHY PIPES CROSS

Funeral Services for Dorothy Pipes Cross, 89, of Baton Rouge, LA will be held at 
3:00 P.M. Friday January 10, 2014 at St. Paschal's Catholic Church with Fr. 
Frank Coens officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paschal's Catholic 
Church Cemetery in West Monroe, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, 
West Monroe.

Dorothy Pipes Cross was born on March 31, 1924 and passed away on January 6, 
2014 in Baton Rouge, LA after a life devoted to her family. Dorothy grew up in 
Calhoun, LA, where she was a competitive student, earning many medals in state 
literary rallies. After graduating from Louisiana Tech, where she was a member 
of Sigma Kappa sorority, she worked for the U. S. Navy in Washington, D. C. 
After marrying she lived in Pittsburgh, PA; Cincinnati, OH; Toledo, OH; and 
Metairie, LA. Dorothy taught math for several years, then worked as an 
accountant at LSU Medical School in New Orleans. During retirement she traveled, 
took cooking classes, did volunteer work, and enjoyed her grandchildren and 
great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Bishop N. and Alice 
L. Pipes; husband, Daniel E. Cross; and brothers, Bishop, Jr. and Robert Pipes.

Dorothy is survived by her four children, John Cross and wife Sue, Diana Cretini 
and husband Eric, Mary Cross, and Joseph Cross and wife Deborah; ten 
grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Louis H. Pipes; and numerous 
nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at 2:00 P.M. until service time Friday at the church.
