Tuck Roberts and Rev. Herman Lenard officiating. Interment will follow in Frantom Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM leaving in funeral procession to Frantom Chapel. Born January 15, 1920 in Eros, LA to the union of Phate Lewis and Nova Gewin Lewis, she died on Thursday, January 31. Mrs. Crowell was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Samuel Grace Crowell and two infant sons: Samuel G. Crowell, Jr. and Howard Leo Crowell. Her parents and two brothers, Roy Lewis and JD Lewis also preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Mickey Sue Jackson and husband, Dickie; two sons, Jerry Dale Crowell and wife, Linda of West Monroe and Ray Lynn Crowell and wife, Gail of Gulfport, MS. Seven grandchildren will cherish her memory: Bryan Crowell of New Orleans, Carrie Ferguson, Jay Roark, Chris Crowell, Alison C. Lovelady, all of West Monroe, Sam Crowell and Ben Crowell of Centreville, VA. Other family members include ten great-grandchildren and three sister-in-laws: Katherine Crowell May, Helen Lewis and Gretchen Lewis along with her nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Randy May, Terry Lewis, Ricky Lewis, Bryan Crowell, Chris Crowell, Jay Roark and Kenneth Dickerson. The family extends appreciation to the entire staff of Hospice Family Alliance and especially to her nurse, Rene Jackson for providing excellent home health services for sixteen months.
