Memorial services will be held Sunday, January 11, 2015, at 2:00 PM at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Monroe, Louisiana. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Chickasaw Cemetery in Olla, Louisiana. Officiating will be Rev. Richard Turnley and Rev. Ray Owens. Rodney was born in Columbia, Louisiana, to Claud and Mildred Cruse. He graduated from Ferriday High School and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was a Seabee and served in Vietnam. He retired from the Louisiana State Department of Corrections as Supervisor of Probation and Parole. After retirement he was warden at Ouachita Correctional Center and worked for the Ouachita Parish Coroner's Office in Monroe. He was member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Rodney is survived by his wife, Peggy; son and daughter-in-law, Spencer and Christine Cruse and children Carson and Marlea of Phoenix, Arizona; and son, Nathan Cruse of Monroe. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in- law, Charlotte and Malcom Cain of Vidalia, Louisiana; and brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Judy Cruse of Natchez, Mississippi. Other survivors are nephew, Brad and Leslie Cain and their children of Lindale,Texas; nephew, Justin Cain and children of Vidalia, Louisiana; brother-in-law, Glendon Grigg of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; aunt, Elaine Jeansonne of Monroe, Louisiana; and numerous cousins. The family would like to give thanks to the staff of Wing I and II at the Northeast Louisiana War Veteran's Home for their care and concern in 2014. Memorials can be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 513 Lincoln Road, Monroe, Louisiana.
