CRUSE George Lester Cruse, III, 57 of Delhi, LA died on August 4, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. Visitation will be on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Cox Funeral Home, Delhi. Service will on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Delhi Presbyterian Church with Rev. Paul Lipe and Rev. Eddie Fuller officiating followed by Masonic Graveside Burial Rites for the immediate family and fellow Masons at Faith Memorial Park Cemetery near Delhi under the direction of Cox Funeral Home, Delhi. Mr. Cruse was the Port Captain for Magnolia Marine Transport Company and was a member of the Delhi Masonic Lodge #120, The Scottish Rite and Barak Shine Temple in Monroe, LA. He was a member of Delhi Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon. Lester was known for his giving heart, his kind nature, his willingness to help anyone in need and for his love for God and family. You hardly ever saw him without a smile on his face. He brought joy and laughter to anyone he was around. And on Friday nights at DCS football games he was Mr. Who Ya Rootin For? He is survived by his wife, Vicki Kemp Cruse of Delhi, LA; son George Lester Cruse IV and daughter, Chelsea Nicole Cruse both of Monroe, LA; his parents, George Lester Cruse, Jr. and Dorothy Cruse; a sister, Marianne Cruse Strong and husband Jimmy all of Delhi, LA; sister-in-law Tina Kemp Watson and husband Bobby of Shreveport; brother-in-law Johnny Kemp and wife Dulce, of Blanchard; Father and Mother-in-law, John and Betty Kemp of Shreveport, La; nephew, J.T. Strong and wife Kasey of Kenya, Africa; nephew Mason Kemp and niece Courteney Kemp, both of Blanchard. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins who he loved dearly. Pallbearers will be Kevin Roberts, Bobby Watson, Stan Humphries, Mike Carpenter, Brant Mathieu, and Ricky Norris. Special thanks is given to Monica Odom, Dr. Kenneth McDonald and the employees of Crossroads Hospice of Delhi for the care given to Lester during his last days. Lester spent his last days surrounded by friends and family, laughing and remembering all the good times had with them. Thank you for making his journey home to heaven one filled with love and laughter. That was Lester.
