Rick Crandell and Rev. Stacey Pitmon officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the funeral home in Columbia from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Raymond Cruse was born on January 16, 1929 to the union of his parents Charley and Georgia Gilliam Cruse and he passed from this life on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe following an extended illness. Raymond was a retired employee with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development having served thirty-seven years. He was a member of the Grayson, LA Beautification Committee, served for eight years as a Caldwell Parish Police Juror, served as Alderman for the town of Grayson for close to thirty years, served on the Board for the Caldwell Council on Aging, and was an active member of the Grayson Baptist Church until his health begin to decline. He served Grayson Baptist for over fifty years. He was extremely involved in the Grayson and Caldwell Parish communities. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his first wife: Gladys Brown Cruse, by three brothers: Wayne Cruse, James "Shotgun" Cruse and Benny Ray Cruse, and by his sister Gwendolyn Cruse. Left to cherish his memory is his wife: Virginia Bratton Cruse of Grayson, two daughters: Pam Masters and her husband Terry of Grayson and Pat Guerrero and her husband Ernest of Grayson; two step daughters: Hattie Smith and husband Michael of Frisco, Texasa and Nita and Brad Harris of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one step-son: Sidney Eubanks of Grayson; his grandson: Christopher Adam May and four grand daughters: Celeste Wallace, Tonia Poole, Jennifer Page, and Ashleigh Richmond; his great grandsons: Reed Anderson, Ryan Wallace, Hunter Rowland, Parker Carlino, Peter Page, Hunter Domangue and Brisen Page; his sister-in-law: Virginia Cruse of Grayson. He is also survived by three nephews: Chuck Cruse, Dana Cruse, Michael Nelson and one niece Barbara Carroll. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Masters, Ernest Guerrero, Mitch Bratton, Larry Bratton, Paul Bratton, Mike Ainsworth, Steve May, and Clay Bennett.
