Interment will follow in the Harris Chapel Cemetery five miles east of Olla, LA. Visitation will be on Friday July 11, 2014 at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Francine Sainlez Cummings was born March 29, 1925 in Dinant, Belgium to the union of Henry Joseph Sainlez and Lea Bessems Sainlez. Francine passed from this life and met her savior Jesus Christ on July 8, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her brother, Gilbert Sainlez of Kelly, LA, and her husband of 55 years Howard L. Cummings of Kelly, LA. Francine served in the American Red Cross in Leige, Belgium during World War II. During that time she met her loving husband Howard while he was awaiting deployment back to the states after serving two years in the European Theater. As a couple, they dated by U. S. Mail for two years when she accepted his proposal of Marriage. She arrived in the U. S. on June 5, 1947 and was married to Howard on June 6, 1947. Survivors include two sisters: Jeannine Collard and Anna Marie Fontaine, and one brother George Sainlez, all of Liege, Belgium. Six children: John M. Cummings of Kelly, LA ,Jacques H. Cummings of West Monroe, LA, Danny A, Cummings of Kelly, LA, David P. Cummings and wife Cecile of Grayson, LA, Shirley A. Andrews and husband Charles of Calhoun, LA, and Mark D. Cummings of Stockbridge, GA and fiance Laura Nunley of McDonough, GA, nine grandchildren and twelve great grand children. The children will serve as pallbearers.
