Chunn, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie G. Chunn of Bastrop, apparently stepped off into deep water while wading at a boat ramp some 11 miles west of here, Sheriff's officials received a call at 5:47 p.m. that the boy had drowned while he was at the boat ramp with his family. The body was recovered a short time later by members of the Bastrop Fire Department. Morehouse Parish Coroner Dr. Joe Reynolds ruled the death due to accidental drowning, Sheriff's officials said. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. O.O. Self officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn's Funeral Home of Monroe. Other survivors include, a brother, Harmon Chunn; three sisters, Misses Betty Ann Chunn, Mandy Chunn and Theresa Chunn, all of Bastrop; and a number of cousins. The body will be at the residence from 3 p.m. today until one hour before services.
