Rev. Tom Howe will officiate. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service. An additional service will be held on Monday at 3:00 p.m., August 24th at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, 11886 US -84, Jena, LA 71342. Interment will follow at Graham Cemetery in Nebo, LA. There will be a visitation following the service in Jena, LA. Frank was born on February 7, 1926 in Natchez, MS to J.W. Darsey and Effie Mae Darsey and passed away on August 21, 2015. He grew up in Rayville, LA where he attended and graduated from Rayville High school in 1943. Frank graduated from Louisiana Tech with a BS degree in Forestry, Frank was drafted by the Army and served in Europe with the 70th Infantry Division for 18 months. He left the service as a Staff Sargent, May 31, 1946. Frank married Iva Mae "Bobbie" Hudnall Darsey in 1960 and they had 35 wonderful years of marriage before her death in 1995. He worked for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries as a Field Biologist and for International Paper from 1952 to 1985 in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Frank was a loyal and active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Shreveport. He enjoyed being a member of the Joy Sunday School class and the Wednesday morning men's prayer breakfast. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bobbie and brother Marvin B. Darsey. Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Betty Jean Darsey of Arcadia, LA, Judy D. Futch of Arcadia, LA and Sue D. Hayes and husband, Cecil of Bossier City, LA, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Honoring Frank as pallbearers will be Curtis Williams, Dude Middlebrooks, James Flurry, Jim McCoy, Ronnie Morton and Bob Jahnke. Honorary pallbearers will be the Joy Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church or to the charity of donor's choice.
